new here
Hi my name is debs and I have 2 lovely dogs, podge who is a staffie and Bruce who is a staffie cross, podge is 19 months old and Bruce is 3 months, I have recently noticed on podge that is fur is going thin on is back but his skin is fine and he is not scratching or bitting his self so I just wondered if any one else as ever experienced this problem. He also has a balled patch on top of his head! Thanks in advance for and advice xx

Re: new here
It sounds like mites, which is easily cured and the fur grows back in a couple of months. Chloe had this when she was very small. Trip to the vets I'm afraid! (Love the name Podge!!) x

Re: new here
Welcome from us and Bane! He is a handsome chappy!
Bane has very thin hair! None on his belly what so ever and if you stand behind him you can see through to the skin on his back...his ears are also pretty bald too and when his face wrinkles up you can see skin on the top of his head! But he has always been like this so if it's something new for you maybe vets would be best just to check

Re: new here
Aw they are so cute snugged up together! If he's always been like it and it's consistent across the different areas then it's possibly nothing to worry about unless he's scratching and having problems with it. If it starts getting patchy, and he gets bald spots, then it's likely to be demodex and will need to go to the vets. Bane had scrapes the other day and came back clear.
