Ideas for getting Honey ready for a baby?
Hi,
My husband and I are delighted to have found out we are having our first child. Honey is now a year old has certainly been our fur baby and over indulged. She has changed so drastically in the last year and has really become a lot calmer and more responsive to us. Although still at times completely over excitable and loves to jump and try and lick faces much to our dislike. We have tried to introduce her to children (the only kids we have around our house are 8-12 yr olds) and usually she is pretty good, but occasionally wants to jump and lick. She is such a huge part of our lives and home but know that in a few months all our lives will change drastically. Any ideas on how to ease her into this process?

Congratulations, the link it great.. Main thing is to try and get her into the routine as close as possible as you'll be hoping to follow when the baby comes. If she sleeps in your room and you want her to be downstairs start that too etc. Basically any big changes to her life begin now, as to not connect a negative association with the baby when they come. Other than that, the link is pretty spot on

Thank you all for the advice and support. Have already put into place everything as of last night on the list so fingers crossed we all cope when this new bundle arrives. Thanks again,

I've never done it this way round either, but the above advice must surely help.
the new baby will take up a LOT of your time and attention, naturally, and you won't have much time or energy to give to Honey, at least in the early days. This is where your OH must do his bit! Let Honey she is always loved.
Many congratulations on your forthcoming baby!
