Re: Broxi's [ Raw Progress blog ]
yep you can freeze and use them later if you don't want to use them now
Also don't forget out of date meat is fine for dogs, as is defrosting and refreezing food

I often look in the supermarket for reduced meat going off that day and lob it straight in the freezer

Re: Broxi's [ Raw Progress blog ]
So tomorrow will be the first time i give him chicken bone which will come in the way of chicken drumstick.
I will give him 500gram chicken mince with a chicken drumstickbone,
Is it best to maybe split that into 2 meals a day so 250grams one meal and then one later when your starting raw

http://www.nurturingbynature.co.uk/barf_natural_raw_dog_food_bournemouth_s/1814.htm
The women on the phone could not of been any nicer,so helpfull and understanding and the best part of all is this company sends you out your food within couple of days rather than certain date of every month

Re: Broxi's [ Raw Progress blog ]
Feed him his chicken mince again and a chicken thigh, took out the bone tho,i then give him the bone 10mins later thinking it mite be ok but his poo was hard and crumbly, meaning to much bone of course.
Made him his dinner tonight and took him out his poo was soft, not watery or anything just very soft.
Il see how he is tomorrow with no added bone all day

Re: Broxi's [ Raw Progress blog ]
It seems thats theres alot of bone in the mince chicken,as again his poo had alot of bone in it and poo was like hard balls shapped (no added bone was added to his meal ),so will cut back on the mince and add in more pure chicken to try and balance the meal

If its minced chicken carcas it does have quite a bit of bone in. If you are also feeding meat on the bone feed it with minced breast meat only.

Re: Broxi's [ Raw Progress blog ]
Yeah saz,
Think i under estimated how much bone is in the mince so i added either to much mince to go with the normal chicken or not enough chicken to go with the mince.
Another good thing about this week is he hasnt farted, normally hes a phantom farter but not no more

Re: Broxi's [ Raw Progress blog ]
Thanks,
Hes looking well, coat shiny and in good condition, hes starting to look quite bulky now to,so hes responding well, he is coming to that age where he will start to bulk out anyway but overall im so pleased i made the switch.
Hes being fed around 800grams a day,he was at the start around 500grams but i have just added raw to his meal rather than take abit of something away to make way for another,so i will see how he is at 800grams a day and take abit off if needed.
Adding tripe to his meal to him was like adding chocolate he loves it lol,the smell is not that great

Re: Broxi's [ Raw Progress blog ]
Wondering if tripe isnt agreeing with him, seemed fine at the start he loves it,since i got him wormed last friday his tummy was rumbling not long after he had it and the next day (cant comfirm if it was to do with being wormed),didn't give him any tripe on sunday and he was fine.now give him tripe today and tummy is making noises again. Poo seems fine, not as hard as it was when i first started raw but firm.
I give him short of 100grams today of tripe in a 500gram meal that had chicken mince and breast chicken in the bowl with it.
