DogBlading

Took Prince out today, well yesterday, to try and get him to pull me on my roller blades for a bit of a workout.
Took a walk down to the park with my better half, got myself ready and off we went.
He was a bit unsure about what to do, but as soon as I started skating he would run alongside me. Unfortunately he didn't know that he is supposed to pull. I tried a few times but nothing worked. He just wanted to run with me. Then, while we were going back to the bench, my girlfriend called him and he started to pull
We stopped for a quick drink and tried again. This time with my girlfriend ahead, calling Prince.

Oh, I apologise for the bad camera work and please excuse the music if its not to your taste. Me and my girlfriend cant stand hearing our own voices on video.
And I hope the owners of the site don't mind me sticking the sites logo at the end of the video.

Lovin his little waddle! Possibly my favorite part of watching these dogs run is that little butt wiggling trot of theirs, when their not quite running and not quite walking.

That and his big old staffy smile at the end.

He's a fine looking pooch. I'm sure he'll pick it up in the future.

He will get it eventually. Just need a bit of training, both Prince and me. I need to learn some mushing commands otherwise he'll get confused about when he can and cant pull.

It was good fun and definitely worth a go. Just a shame there are not many decent places round here to do it.
Best thing about it, it's a good workout for Prince and me

I'm in the process of learning Lola to run along side me when I'm on my mountain bike, but have always wanted to have a go at roller blading.

Edit: or maybe even teaching Lola lol, it just didn't read very good English haha

Looks like it was a great time!!

He is so priceless. If we lived a bit closer I'd swap you for my youngest (Izzy) as she'd certainly pull you along and I would love to have your boy walk/run along side me or at least remind Izzy of what she learned in dog obedience classes as she's sort of forgotten. I so love the black spot over his left eye and he has a "staffy smile" that will melt many a heart!!!

Have a look on youtube. There's loads of videos of people DogBlading, DogBoarding, Urban Mushing... Its a good way to give your dog a proper workout.

I have had people walking past and looking at Prince. Then I hear them say, 'Aww look at him. He looks like someones punched him in the eye.'
Obviously not saying it in a bad way though.

Thats a fantastic video, the strut, the excitment of your oh calling,although it would have been good to hear her calling, I think the sound track used was ace! Looks like such fun.

I took prince out earlier and we went down a quiet industrial estate. I skated all the way there, trying to get him to pull on his own. All he wanted to do is walk along beside me. We got to a nice smooth bit of road and gave it another go. I skated as fast as I could and tried to get Prince to go ahead and pull, but he still just wanted to run with me No pulling at all.
So we stopped for a drink. I took my skates off and walked back through the woods. And guess what, he starts pulling! Ok, not much, but he walked ahead of me instead of beside me, with some tension on the lead.
Looks like I'm gonna have to get my girlfriend to come out and call him again.
So no videos or pics today I'm afraid.

At least he is walking well on lead, when you encouraging him to pull! You need the balence. I think oh needs to be there
