Is it true they get grumpy as they get older?

Hi all,

Just wondering what peoples take is on this. I was out walking my little 11 month old today and he's honestly got the nicest nature of any dog I've ever known and I bumped into a man who said he used to breed them . He said they are the loveliest dogs until they get older and then hey get really grumpy. That makes me nervous as we have a baby on the way. I know he's only 11 months and as I said he's really lovely with both people and dogs and I dread to think that he might change and become a handful.

I shouldn't worry too much like us we get a tad grumpy as we get older and he is only young to which by then your baby will be old enough to understand xxx

Harry is my 6th Staffie, my last boy lived til nearly 16 and not one of
them got grumpy as they got older. They are usually more of a handful
when young. But then like people they are all different. Some days
my family call me Mrs Meldrew  

My brother had his girl until she was 13 never had a grumpy bone in her body they had two babies in her time too

I had tyra for 13 happy years and she was always a happy loving and gentle girl, even at the end when she must have been in pain.

Thanks everyone. That's good to know. It's just all these silly people keep filling my head with doubts which is so sad as he's absolutely lovely. Just wants cuddles all the time - a right softy lol. Thanks again everyone.

That can get a little cantankerous when they're really old, like people really and will probably enjoy a quieter life but they don't just turn savage, no lol! Just prefer a quiet snooze and snuggle on the sofa!
