 watching the news with the floods their xmas gone down the pan

these pub you have booke with some people will be doing without meals   IMO christmas is more about having an nice meals if you dont have kids anyways

we had high winds on the island,poor people down the road got flooded.their house is next to a stream and the stream turned in to a river with the amount of rain we had   ,thats at the bottom of the road and thank god we are at the top,the garage down there was also 3 foot under water,when hubby took sash out they were bailing out,terrible for them .

Aww those poor people it's awful

The storm yesterday was horrible. I know I've been cynical elsewhere on this forum (and personally) about the weatherman's warnings after the hurricane in '87, when they got it SO wrong, but they certainly got it right this time. The little river at the bottom of my garden (and along my favourite dog walk) is looking like the Thames, and a huge laurel (or something equally evergreen) has crashed down and blocked the same walkway. But many people in this area are suffering blackouts through power lines being brought down, and I feel so sorry for them and selfishly count myself lucky.

I send all best wishes to those who have been affected more than just having their dog-walk blocked that services are restored as soon as possible.
