Oh, poor girl! I would imagine that she's very confused at the moment. Have you ever had a dog before?

Hi and welcome, yes the poor thing is probably very confused. When outside with her as soon as she starts to do something say a phrase 'do you business' or similar and keep repeating it while she's doing it, the after lots of praise, fuss treats etc. This should re-inforce that its to be done outside.

Your brothers dog is probably confused and all out of routine. There are some links below which should help with the basics. Above all try to get her into a good routine as soon as you can, this will help.

http://staffy-bull-terrier.com/responsible_ownership
http://www.staffy-bull-terrier.com/crate_training
http://staffy-bull-terrier.com/dry_food
Do you know what your brother had been feeding her ?
Other good foods are James Wellbeloved and Wainwrights both of which are available from Pets At Home and are a good quality food, the JWB is more easily available than some of the other foods.
Does she have her own bed/crate ? Staffies do love to snuggle up with their owners for bedtime on the bed and crave human contact.
When was she last wormed/treated for fleas ? Do you have a vet near you for a quick health check up ?
Some chew toys may be a good investment too along with a stag bar:

The stag bars are also available in Pets At Home
