Prince's erm... Stats?
Well, we took a walk to get prince some food (which i will ask about in another thread) and in the shop they had some scales. So I got him weighed. He was good as gold and didn't move a muscle until he was asked to get off. I have also just measured him up as well.
I want to know what you guys think. Is he a big dog, or very big? Is he over weight, or just right?
Anyway...
He weighs 24.5kg (54lbs)
He is 17" Tall, 21" Long, 28" Around the chest and 23" around the waist.
So, what do you guys think?

I can't really help, I judge Moo on her if you get what I mean. There all so different. I have never measured Moo (to be honest wouldn't know how too) she was 19.25 last time at the vets, she's nearly 2 but very lean and doesn't have the chunky look of a staff.

Re: Prince's erm... Stats?
I think as i said before hes a bit over weight. But thats only from seeing his pics not from his actual weight. He should have a nice tuck up and u should be able to easily feel his ribs but not see them apart from the last rib which u should see. I would say from looking at his pics try to get him around the 21kg mark and see how he looks then?! xx

Does your dog have a defined waistline?
Can you easily feel your dogs rib cage?
If you have to push firmly to feel the ribcage then your dog is slightly over weight.

Re: Prince's erm... Stats?
Hey guys.
Yea, he has a definite waistline and I can just about feel his ribs without pressing too hard. I think I'm gonna keep feeding him the same amount of food for a while but keep up with the exercise. As his dry food gets close to running out, I'll be getting him some decent dry food instead of the cheap stuff that hes on. I have changed his wet food to Arden Grange though. So we should start to see some improvements.
We take him out everywhere with us and because the car is off the road, we walk everywhere. We are out at least an hour every time and take him out at least twice a day. Sometimes I think we are out too much, but Prince just keeps going and going...
Here's a pic of him shot earlier on today in the park.

Yea, I know what you mean.
Like I said, I'll keep his regular feeds and just keep up with the exercise. Unfortunately we missed his 1 walk because of the weather, but we'll make up for it later on.
