DAP Diffuser
Anyone know th cheapest place to buy one?
We're going to stay with OH's parents over Christmas and Bruno does get on with their dog (most of the time) but their dog stresses out a little which winds Bruno up and makes him react. I am hoping having a DAP plugged in will help to keep things calm!

Always worth a try Hayley.
When we first bought Rocky home from the rescue centre they had put one on him to calm him and it worked.
We got him one a while back too after he had been attacked and we really noticed a difference, he was much calmer with it on.

Re: DAP Diffuser
I'd say ebay too but be careful, we had a load of dodgy ones in work and they melted the plug sockets!! Also, just being nosy, I saw on another thread that you're a dog walker, do you work for an agency or are you self employed? I've just finished in kennels and waiting for an interview as a vet assistant, but been offered a few dog walking clients just from meeting random people on walks and considering going self employed.. do you enjoy it? xx

Re: DAP Diffuser
I do it for myself, not an agency. I do love it, but it doesn't bring in a lot of money. Although no-one works with animals for the money
If you want to give it a go, make sure you have insurance and it's probably a good idea to get CRB checked too because it's more appealing to people! I also offer a 'pet taxi' service for people unable to take their pets to the vet or groomers etc, but I don't advertise a price for it on my website. You need a license to transport livestock from DEFRA if you're going to charge for it (and trust me some people get funny about it even if you're transporting them safely). I don't have a license so I don't charge but I then usually take them for a walk before or after which I am able to charge for.
Sounds like you already have some potential clients so you're on the right path already. It's a good job to have! I'm sadly giving it up because our situation means we need more income so as of January I'll be looking for a job.

Re: DAP Diffuser
Very true, I've been on minimum wage since I was 15 though so if I could earn a little more it would be great! I know of a girl who charges £10 per dog and walks 11 a day in groups of 3 and then a couple solos! But also many others that have taken a long time for the business to take off and had to go back to full time work..
Yeah looked into insurance and CRB, seems websites can be done fairly cheaply as well as business cards, though I can't afford a car so would be push biking it until I can afford to drive! How long have you been doing it for? Sorry for all of the questions lol!

Re: DAP Diffuser
I've been doing it since June, and it's going well, just not well enough. You're right about it sometimes taking a while to get going but as with most things you get out what you put in!
Make sure you check with your local council how many dogs you're allowed to walk at once. With ours it's a maximum of 3 (for dog walkers - not just people with their own dogs) but it differs from County to County.
I have regular clients which I'll keep on until I've found a job but won't be taking any new ones. Wouldn't really be fair to them if they then had to go look for a new dog walker again when I found work!
It's a fantastic job, but be prepared for it not to work out the way you want it to straight away

Re: DAP Diffuser
Could you possibly do it part time, or are most of your clients half way through the day? I think it makes sense to have 3 as a maximum.. there's was a lady by mine a few days ago with possibly 15-16? Madness!
Yeah I'm not holding out right now, just something to consider over the new few months! Thank you for the tips x

Re: DAP Diffuser
I could do it part time but the unfortunate thing is, if I have to work at my normal job I then have to turn down clients, who will go elsewhere and not come back. So it's an all or nothing type deal!
