Well, tonight I took Prince out for a late walk because I had to nip to the cash machine. I don't wanna leave him alone at home just yet, because we haven't even had him a week yet and we have other animals in the house (in a cage and vivs). So, got some money out and no problems. Walking back home and I saw a flash. I thought it was a speed camera at first, but soon realised there was no second flash, there's no speed camera around that area and then there was a rumble in the sky. I thought, Cool! A thunder storm! I love thunder storms. Then I sniffed the air and realised... What usually comes with a thunder storm? Yep, rain. And a lot of it. Me and Prince ran home as quick as I could. The lightening and thunder didn't bother him one bit, but the run home nearly killed me. We finally got home, realised that his towel was still on the line, so Prince now has 2 towels.
I have just read the sticky about fireworks and I don't think we will be having many problems with Prince when the time comes Smile
So, who else got caught in it? Or did you all look at the weather forecast and decided to walk your dogs before it hit?

Me my sis and Blondy got caught init the rain turned our main road into a river and all of us into drown rats lookalike but not the thunder and lightening we watched that from inside cause it was about an hour after we got in that it started Taz and Cassie do not like fire works but they didn't mind the storm so you may still have problem lol.

Lol, I know how you feel. Me and Prince were soaked! It was about a 15 min walk back home when it started. It didn't rain hard enough to turn the road into a river, but it wasn't far off. Funny thing, about 10 mins after we got in, It had almost stopped Sad
Prince had a bath on Wednesday and I think I'll be giving him another quick one tomorrow. Well, later on today. I'm not a big fan of wet dog smell, but he has been rolling around on the fields as well, so he could do with one anyway.
He seems really good with sudden noises. In fact, if someone jumped out while I'm walking him at night, I think Prince would just carry on walking. The other night, we were walking down a dark track and some birds flew out of the trees. Scared the hell out of me, but Prince just carried on.
Only time will tell though. If the fireworks do scare him, then he will have a nice cozy little den he can hide in and some loud ish music to listen to Smile

woody didnt seem do mind it - in fact i think he quite enjoyed it, he kept running outside to play in it. bit different to my first staff tessa, she did not do water or noise, used to step around puddles, no way was the little madam going to get her delicate little paws wet. however she once had a little unexpected dip - i was in the bath one time when a storm started she ran upstairs and launched herself on top of me, picture this (or maybe not if you are eating/of a delicate nature) me led in the bath with a 3 stone staff led on top of me! i couldnt get out/move for laughing!

Sometimes, with fireworks, it isn't the loud bangs that frighten, it's those awful whizzing & whining noises that they make.

Prince aint been out for his proper walk yet, but it looks like its starting to brighten up. So I'll be taking him out shortly. See how he is with the puddles.
PMSL I can only imagine the sight Laughing
Yea Dan. We have 2 Leopard Geckos, a Tokay Gecko and a Corn Snake. We also have tropical fish and 1 rat. We did have 7 rats at one point, but they sadly died. They don't live long. Next on the list is a pair of ferrets when they are born Smile

I'll have to play some vids with fireworks off youtube and see how he reacts. I have some pretty powerful speakers, so they should sound like the real thing.

Cheers Dan.
Were getting 2 ferrets soon. Just gotta wait for them to be born and then another 6 weeks after that so they are old enough to be taken away from their mother. If we had the room, this place would be like a mini zoo lol.
