Missing teat
I imagine this is a bit of a strange one, but hopefully someone can help....
Last week I noticed that one of Betsy's teats (she had nine) was red around the area. It didn't seem to be causing her any discomfort so I just monitored her and in a day or two it went away.
Today I have noticed that the area was very slightly bloody and her teat has almost gone. I'm keeping the area clean. It doesn't seem to be causing her any discomfort and she seems her normal self but I know it's not always easy to tell with staffies so wonder if I should get her checked out.
Thanks
Sam & Betsy

Re: Missing teat
It could be an inverted nipple (happens in people, too), which could happen for a few reasons.
Your vet will be in a better position to advise. Let us know how you get on.

Re: Missing teat
Back from vet visit. Apparently it's not that unusual for them to get damaged. It seems that perhaps the harness has done some rubbing which could have caused the pinkness around the teat.
For now bathing twice a day and any changes in size etc then a pop back to the vets. Fortunately Betsy can't get to it, but it doesn't seem to be causing her any bother. Oh and change of harness.
Thanks for your thoughts and concern
