Welcome to the neighbourhood!

Lovely two hour walk this afternoon.. had a paddle in the river and played in the leaves! Accidental meeting with a gorgeous pointer.. no owner in sight but luckily Biscuit took to her quite well and had a little sniff and walked on  

Biscuit's aquired two new nicknames by the local residents.. they're "devil dog" and "it" Simply walking along minding our own business, on lead! Luckily for me she behaved impeccably when their dogs were bombing it around yapping at her! Think we're the black sheep of the neighbourhood already

In my experience, whenever you encounter the staffie (bull-breed) hater, it's only a matter of moments before the staffie-lover comes along. We were down at the farmers' market on Saturday and felt a little out of place among the angelic bichon frises, dachshunds and schnauzers (our own behaviour, I will admit, was not perfect), only thereafter to meet a very nice couple who were positively wetting their pants trying to talk to Douglas. My only complaint is that it's just a tiny bit tiresome to hear the same old clichés again and again (and again), even if they're positive and from very nice people. eg, did you know these are called the nanny dogs? these dogs are so misunderstood; there's no such thing as a bad dog only a bad owner etc etc. Yawn. But it's nice to get a good reaction and very glad to hear that Biscuit was peaceful today.

Oh how nice of them to make an opinion before even allowing you or biscuit to show your true self! I'm sure with Biscuits well behaved self they'll soon see they were wrong! Keep your chin up, there's always going to be people like that in the world regardless where you go, at least it's a haven for you and Biscuit there - looks gorgeous from the pictures

Shame, they are missing out on the Staffy love.... they are obviously not worthy to own an amazing Staffy!!  

lovely people eh! I just smiled and remained polite. Was a good moment when two on lead Yorkies went ballistic at her and she just kept sniffing.. The lady looked so confused! Felt sorry for the Yorkie lady though it's so hard when Bis gets a bee in her bonnet.. Biscuit was so good yesterday I can't imagine how they're going to react when she's reactive to a dog or man.. We'll probably be stoned by the towns folk lol! So nice to hear your stories and read your comments.. and really I'm quite pleased that they don't like us, for the first time everybody that's seen us has put their dog on a lead, given us a funny look and walked away! Leaves us in peace and quiet ha! Lovely to know that there are some staffy people in the world though!! The comments do get a little repetitive, I hear them all the time at work, but they're much nicer than "keep that thing away from me" lol! Xxx
