What do you think
My son has just sent me these photos of Caley, she has a lump in her eye. I have noticed that over the past week she has been getting a gunky eye but this has developed over the course of this morning - someone mentioned Cherry Eye - which I had never heard off. I have an appointment at the vets this evening, but wondered what your thoughts were.
Reading about Cherry Eye it sounds like she might have to have an op (really don't want that) has anyone else come across this.

Re: What do you think
It might be conjunctivitis. The pic does look like cherry eye though. Hope it goes okay at the Vets

Re: What do you think
It does look like cherry eye, Daisy had it and there was an op needed to correct it. They can either cut it out so it doesn't happen again or stitch it back in, I opted to have it stictched back in as having it cut out completely can cause dry eye problems.
Let us know how you get on at the vets xx

Re: What do you think
Many thanks. I just spoke to my husband and he said her eye looks fine now, I am still going vets as her eye is gunky and I have the pictures to show him of what happened. Fingers crossed she will not need the op.

Re: What do you think
Well when I took her vets her eye was normal, luckily I had the pictures and they confirmed it was cherry eye her third eye lid is a bit more active than the other. I have to keep a diary of when and if it happens again if it becomes regular or stays out for more than a day she will need the op...other than that her eye is healthy, fingers crossed it stays put.

Re: What do you think
I've seen a lot of Cherry eyes in British Bull Dogs, and that definitely looks like one for sure! One of the staffs in for boarding had one also and they eventually had the operation and had it taken out as it kept happening over periods of time - all went well with the operation though!
