My partner accused me of kicking Bruno.
I was annoyed because Bruno was running off and wouldn't listen to either of us, and I was holding his lead and trying to stop him darting about. My partner was angry at him and we were both frustrated. All of a sudden my partner just looked really angry at me and said "You kicked the dog! What did you do that for?!" and I don't even know where he got it from!
My foot did not connect with the dog in any way, I may have stumbled backwards because my balance is shot at the best of times let alone when trying to control a mad puppy. I was actually shocked and denied it and he basically had a massive go at me telling me not to lie and kept saying I kicked the dog!
This turned into a massive argument. We both walked separate ways back to the car. I'm sitting in the drive way he's gone inside and it looks like our relationship is over. And he doesn't even care, he's just gone inside with the dog and left me out here. Didn't care where I'm going. He said "so are you breaking up with me?" and threw the keys in my lap and went inside.
I don't know whether to go inside or drive off.
I'm insulted he'd even accuse me of kicking my Bruno. I adore that dog more than anything in the world and now everything is ruined.
I don't know what to do. All I can do is cry.

Re: :(
What an as* h@le, but everyone is right, go back inside, stay calm, stay away from him if you need to and talk when he's calmer, maybe it was just him looking for a blame outlet for his stress, but your not it!! Big hugs xxx

Re: :(
That's an awful thing to happen!
If I were you, I'd go back inside and wait for things to calm down before confronting the issue. I wouldn't label it the end of the relationship, as arguments do happen! It's how you work through the arguments and reach a settling point that counts. Every couple will have rows, sometimes minor and sometimes major. Once things have simmered down a little, it might help to calmly explain to him that you did not, and never would, kick Bruno and work through the argument.

Oooh men can be so pig-headed sometimes! And as Kelbels says, they are prone to looking for someone to have a go at if they are feeling stressed, and a major row can develop when silly things are said.
I hope that by now things have simmered down, you have kissed and made up (Eleanor's post is fantastic on this subject) and that you 3 (including Bruno, naturally) are all tickety-boo again.
Big s to you and Bruno (and a little hug to your OH if he climbs down off his high horse!)

Re: :(
Thank you guys. Everything calmed down (after a blazing row when I went inside), OH apologised for what he said and after a few tears we cuddled and made up and everything is good again.
I don't think either of us see ending the relationship as an option, we both love each other so much that when we argue neither of us walk away which can make things worse.
But it's all good now. He admitted that he knew deep down I would never do anything to hurt Bruno. He's very stressed at work at the moment which is putting a strain on home life but we'll get through it!

I'm so glad things have calmed down now.
Relationships are a real bugger at times aren't they?
I actually think that arguments can keep a relationship going, as long as it clears the air & neitherone of you hold a grudge.
Big hug to all three of you!
