Being a good friend isn't always easy, but taking the time to nurture a lasting friendship is worth every ounce of effort, and of course these things work both ways
Honesty
Trustworthy
Being dependable
Being loyal and respectful
Being selfless
A good listener

Same as Hayley, I only have 2 friends and don't see them very much but know they would be there if I needed them. And visa versa

Also, one who you can count on in a tough spot and not just someone who wants your help all the time. I have a few "friends" who always have needs but are never available. Hmmm. Like minded or at least able to comfortably disagree are huge to me. Don't need to be just like me but not vehemently opposed to what I think or believe is important. I don't want to argue all the time! We should also be able to do things without awkward silence but also not feel the need to talk non-stop.

Someone I can trust, talk & laugh with.

Someone that keeps up with my cider drinking
