Update on Sheba
Saw the vet yesterday (new vet as we've moved) with Sheba.
There are still a lot of live mites in her skin scrape, which is a bit sad. He has put her on a new treatment for the dermodex though - weekly injections for about 8 weeks - and I'm hopeful this will help. Fingers crossed for the scrape in 4 weeks time.
Her skin is still infected (her whole tummy, chest and many spots all over her areas with fur are red, inflamed and often bleed), however he feels we are managing it well enough to keep her off antibiotics for now which is good news.
She has a big wart on her elbow which keeps bleeding and he feels will need to be removed, and the skin in around the tummy nearer to her bottom end is what he calls 'congested' (looks like she has been laying froggy doggy on mud, but it is actually all dirt trapped in the skin + lots of pimples and blackheads) so she has to keep up the daily belly washes with the medicated shampoo to help with this.
Otherwise, all good news - she is 17.6kg and her paws are clearing up nicely

Aww Sheba, great to hear you are doing the best you can to help her Kell, she clearly is in great hands I can understand how stressful it is especially with the Demodex, but she will get better, and I hope very very soon. Rocky sends lots of hugs and licks!

Re: Update on Sheba
Thanks Kathy The vet seems to feel that a lot of the issues are the results of poor care, having pups, lack of treatment and stress ... hopeful that, given time, the lack of all the stressors, a proper diet and treatment will work to at least lessen the issues she has. I think she will be prone to sensitivities, especially while all her fur is still so short and thin.Kathy wrote:Awwwwwww bless her, at least the feet the clearing up which is great news.
