Cool proud mum

Post by Guest Tue Nov 19 2013, 14:28

After yesterday's change in routine and Roxy missing her daddy... the pups and I were outside playing when they started barking at the gate, which normally means they're chatting to the 2 dogs across the road (a daschund and poodle-sort-of-dog). I went to have a look and the dog's mum was out. She came over with her toddler and said the best thing ever - my baby always wants to stroke your staffys, can she? I said sure but just to hold her hand as they can be over excited (this is all going on through the gate).

Well, my two big slobbergobs closed their mouths, lay down and let the little girl tickle their noses - I don't think I've ever known them so calm. Carried on talking to the neighbour to look down and see Roxy more relaxed than I've ever known her - having her ears licked through the gate by the daschund Laughing (Neighbourhood slapper or what?!?!)

As for Vinny : the poodle was a bit skittish but she would lick him and run back home and come back for more - it was a great big cuddle and kissing fest through the gate with my two laying down calmly the whole time Love Struck

Later on I had people over for a meeting about our area - one couple arrived with their toddler. I kept the pups inside behind the security gate but kept the door open so they could still see us. The guy kept asking if they are killers and will they get his toddler - all the while Rox and Vin were laid at the gate holding paws - literally. I don't know how I didn't through those people out Surprised (But I did say that this is their house and I will be letting them into the garden soon as it was so hot inside for them to be cooped up Blushing )

So proud of my pups growing up:D

So proud - and today they have been so chilled. Think they realised last night that even though daddy's going to be late this week, he will still be coming home - they're crashed out on the bed next to me now.
