I used to give blood, I'm O' neg so it can be used for both positive & negative patients, but this new medication lowers my white blood cell count so I'm not allowed. Sad

My dad always gave blood but had to stop after the car accident because he had to have blood transfusions.

I've signed up to give blood but haven't got the balls to do it yet...

My mum is a nurse and is the best at taking blood. People have actually been sent to her from other surgeries because they've been difficult to get blood from but mum can do it!

I'm just scared of it hurting. When I go, I'm going to cover myself in magic cream hahaha!

Well done Steve Smile I've given blood once but was really stressed and lost loads of weight the second time I went and they took me off the list :(Asked my doctor and he said he didn't think it would be a good idea with my stupid illness. Gutted as mine's the same as Hayley's and can be given universally! Doesn't hurt at all Rosie :)I kinda liked sitting watching it all going into the bag Laughing but you can read a magazine or something with the other hand if you need a distraction Smile

Good on yer Steve.

I gave blood several times (A Neg) and it didn't hurt (just looked away as Steve said) - the only thing I didn't particularly care for was having the bag resting against my leg. But then I had to take medication which they didn't want in blood donations and I had to stop.

It was a good feeling though to think that I'd helped someone - I'd do it now if I could.

We're quite rare Ella! Well, so my blood group card tells me.

Well, we can only do what we can - if our blood isn't good enough for other people now at least it was in the past, and we did our best to help people then.
