Hello cesca, well I've moved into a flat and he's really not very happy he hasn't ever lived in a flat and he just doesn't seem to settle (lived here for about 4 months) , the reason I wanted to contact you was I was thinking of rehoming him and wondered if you would have wanted him? I only would ever give him to anyone who I believe would really look after him and he would be happy (Sorry to anyone who doesn't believe in rehoming but it's what is best for Marley). Hope you are well and the hounds are being good Smile

He isn't any better, I've been in contact with a dog trainer and she said she thinks he has separation anxiety and has given me some diff things to try with him. Thanks for getting back to me Smile

It might be worth starting a new post on the staffy chat forum? There is a vast amount of knowledge at hand. I've written numerous posts in relation to Molly and her issues! Sometimes helps just to write things down and vent your frustration/concerns Smile

hes just not settling he is messing in the flat every time I leave him, whether I'm gone 20 mins or a few hours. Its gotten to the point where I can't even invite people in after I have been out due to knowing what I'm coming into.

I've decided I am going to try and find him a home as he is clearly unhappy and I can not cope with the mess any longer.

Do you know anywhere that I can try to find him a new home as I wouldn't ever send him to kennels.

I'm sorry to hear this, is there no chance you can work through it? If you must please contact a reputable shelter, our list is below. Do not advertise yourself as you don't know who is taking him or where he will end up.

I don't know if that is aimed at me but at no point have I mentioned anything about walking my dog. Just so you know he is walked everyday. As for training I'm not sure how you train a dog to have separation anxiety and train them how to love happily in a flat ! Please if you are an expert and have this knowledge please don't hesitate to let me know

He runs about 30 mins a day with ball and thrower. His behaviour is not down to not being looked after, he's four and has always lived in a house with large garden until recently where I have moved to a flat with no garden and I think he just can settle to the change !

I don't know if you ever have had a dog but I am looking for a home for him where someone will be home more than I am and he won't fret and get himself wound up like he is now with me. I am doing what I feel is best for my dog and I have not taken this decision lightly (if I had surely I would have shipped him off to a rescue long ago). I don't want him to be unhappy and unfortunately I'm not in a position to move from my flat!
