is the tv really worth the money we pay?
eastender is poo i wonder how much tax payer money is wasted on that crap
Re: is the tv really worth the money we pay?
Don't watch it anyway (Eastenders that it) soooooooooooooo depressing - suffer from that anyway don't need any more.
Do occasionally get something on TV worth watching but probably not worth the £140.00

Well, a lot of licence-payers' money I have no doubt Steve.
But as things are at the moment, if we want a station that doesn't carry advertisements then it has to be paid for somehow.
Having said that, we have no choice in the matter if we want a telly service at all. And the BBC does earn revenue from productions that it sells abroad.
What I hate is having to shell out of £50 a month to Virgin or Sky if we want access to more than just the terrestrial channels (and my son, bless his cotton socks, does).

without virgin i think i would have a break down normal tv is just repeat after repeat... with sky or virgin i can watch the cooking channel or watch an movie that not been repeated 5 times in an month
Re: is the tv really worth the money we pay?
I very rarely watch tv, tbh. But yes, the licence fee is way too high because they don't actually make decent programmes with it!

It is a rip off but 2 unpaid licences = £995 fine as I discovered this week from a Polish family who only ever watch Polish satellite channels

I don't have a tv.
If there's something I really need to watch, I pounce on unsuspecting mates.
Otherwise, there's no point as it's all pretty *.
I do have a projector screen and projector though for BluRays - that's good.
