Have you ever tried 'crying' and seeing what your dog does? Finley (my 4yr old) pretended to hit me just now and i fell to the floor 'crying'.
Skyla ran up to me,planted herself on the floor and licked me to death! As if to say 'you ok mum?' Do all dogs do this?

Aww proper cute!! Moo hasn't a clue when I'm sad, but Scrumpy did!! Although, Moo has helped me over a bad time, so I think its in he nature if I'm sad she trys to amuse me with a toy, or I'm always a grump!! Well thats my take on it anyway Smile

Used to do that all the time with previous dogs.

Tried it with Dempsey a few weeks ago. My OH pretended to hit me & I pretended to cry. Dempsey looked so concerned, wagged his tail at OH and barked at me!

well when ever I watch a sad animal movie ( and even happy ones!! ) I often cry.. Jethro can't handle it.. he climbs all over me, wagging his tail.. licking my face.. like he is trying to say "It's okay mummy.. everything will be alright..!" Guess he is just a sensitive new aged dog ( SNAD ) Love Struck

My shepherd used to do the same, however, I'm pretty sure she just wanted to taste my tears...

"Mmmmm salty people tears... now I'm hydrated enough to eat cat poops!"

If Leaim pretends to hit me, Molly just gets excited... But if I'm in real pain and actually properly crying, then she gets concerned and licks me and shoves her nose in my face.
