Knitting a blanket!
I finished the hyuuuge blue and white scarf I was knitting last week. It turned out quite well! Now I'm making a big, multicoloured blanket. Does anybody here knit?

Re: Knitting a blanket!
It looks really complicated at first, but it was surprisingly easy to learn! Although it helped that mum used to knit, so she showed me how to do the knit stitch properly.

I'll take a pic of the scarf later on As well as the first thing I ever knitted, which was supposed to be a mini scarf and looked like something Dempsey had coughed up.

Re: Knitting a blanket!
I'm not very good at sewing. I end up sticking myself with the needle!
I've ordered some circular needles so I can try knitting some socks for my next product!
Pics will be posted, but that involves digging out my camera and charging it.

Nope can't knit to save my life. My Mum and best mate tried to teach me when I had Flossie and the boy but failed miserably, hated it. Would rather stick needles in own eye

Re: Knitting a blanket!
Blanket pics would have to wait for a couple of weeks, as I've only done a tiny bit so far.

Re: Knitting a blanket!
Many months ago I bought a staffie pattern from battersea, while I've been resting and getting better I decided to give it a go I've followed a pattern before but not for many years, so that's what I'm doing, I promised Dave that I'd do his, that's if mine doesn't end up looking like NessieEleanor wrote:Suppose it depends on the person! Re: Knitting a blanket!
I can remember learning to knit with my aunty before she died, sadly I don't think I could do it now, although it is something I may take up again when I have the time later in life.

Re: Knitting a blanket!
I find it really calming. Love to tuck up in bed in the evenings, watching a film on my laptop and knitting.
Here be the scarf:
It's actually twice as long as that, but I couldn't lay it flat on the floor because Dempsey wanted it (as you might notice!)

Re: Knitting a blanket!
I knit. I used to have a Saturday show at my Mum's wool shop when I was a teenager. I'm currently knitting some dolls. I'm happy knitting jumpers, but live in fleece jumpers so never ware them. That scarf looks great.

Re: Knitting a blanket!
Glad there's a little knitting crowd on here!
I'm adding in a basketweave pattern for my blanket. Next pattern along will be an eyelet one.
