Raw to Dry
I have a couple of questions about going from Raw to Dry. In terms of swapping over, is it the same as when we started him on a raw diet. You introduce the dry biscuit to his diet over a period of a week or two and slowly phase out the raw? Or do you just go cold turkey and swap him straight over?
Is it also possible to mix in a tin of sardines to his dry food once a week?
Thanks

Sorry I can't help with the switching it's something I've not done but I'm sure someone will be along shortly to help, can I ask why your switching? And sardines in kibble are fine

Re: Raw to Dry
It has come down to a cost issue. Buying raw food in Dubai is expensive, over 150 quid a month, and that's a cheap month.

Re: Raw to Dry
I'd introduce it slowly, but don't mix them.
Adding a couple of sardines or a raw egg to his kibble is fine.

Wow that's expensive. Wonder why it's so expensive. Is food really expensive there also?
How's the switch going?

Re: Raw to Dry
Food is a bit more expensive than that in the UK, however the main difference in the UAE is that nothing is considered waste. Offal is as expensive as steaks. For example, two lamb hearts costs around 4 quid, so when you buy 10 heart for the month that can costs between £30-40 before you have anything else.
Switch is difficult and I don't blame him for not getting excited about food anymore. He gobbled the biscuits down on the first two meals, however he has now tapered off and only picks at it every now and then.
What's everyone's thoughts on the processed dog polony type rolls you can buy? What dry food is considered best?
Thanks
