Saxon's New Friend Empty Saxon's New Friend

I went to the beach this evening with Saxon hoping he could run around by himself for a while. When I got there another dog was already there, a big Malamute named Juno. I thought about leaving because I didn't feel like dealing with other people's dogs, but I talked to Juno's owner and she seemed really nice and knowledgable about her dog. So I let Saxon off leash to play and I'm so glad I did because he had a blast! It was really cute because whenever Juno went too deep into the water for Saxon to stand he would stop and look back at me with a sad face. Poor pup couldn't understand why he was shorter then her! After we played on the beach for a while we even went for a walk on the trails so the dogs could go to the bathroom. It was great, I just wish I would have gotten the woman's name and not just her dog's name! If I ever see her on the street I'd have to call out, "Juno's mom! Hey Juno's mom!" Same would be true of her if she saw me, though! I guess that's just what happens when you're a dog person!

Any way, here are some pictures of Saxon with his new friend, Juno! Enjoy!

What I didn't get pictures of is Saxon's bath afterwards. Just imagine me in a bathing suit holding Saxon in the shower stall while the boyfriend sprayed him with the shower head. The boyfriend, of course, got out of it completely dry while I came out of it covered in salty wet dog fur...

I love this beach! The beach is set up really well, there is only one entrance so you just have to keep an eye on that entrance and everything will be ok. In the 4th picture down you can kinda see the entrance. Saxon did so well, too, whenever he went too close to the entrance I just called him he'd come running! He's such a good dog that it sometimes surprises me!! It was so cute when Saxon looked back at me as if to ask why he couldn't reach any deeper. He looked so sad!

And, yeah the shower was interesting, now that I've had my own shower and a good nights sleep I can see the humor in it a bit better! And hey, at least I didn't have to wash a Malamute!!
