Re: zena at 5 weeks old
She looks gorgeous and i bet she is good hands.
Thats really young, I'm sorry if your going to breed dogs then you have to prepare for the worst like the mother rejecting them and you should be prepared to raise the pups together to an acceptable age.
I got everything i needed when it came to Cassie being pregant i got the forumal/bottles/heatmatts the whole weaning collecting incase Cassie wouldn't or couldn't feed her pups. It cost me a fortune and i never needed to use it, but i'm glad i got it just incase and i am not even a professional breeder. If those kind of things are too hard and they can not cope with the what ifs something bad happened then they shouldn't breed. As breeder isn't it their responaibility to take care of the mother and pups until they are old enough to leave, not palm them off.

Yes, but at least this one has gone to a good home, don't you agree?
She's gorgeous..........I want her.

Re: zena at 5 weeks old
I agree thats she has gone to a good home but it just annoys the heck out of me, what kind breeder is this woman?
I really hope you do not have any of the behavioural side affect of a pup leaving its siblins and mother that young, that would be a real shame and its becomming more and more common.

Re: zena at 5 weeks old
Hopefully, as she's now with another dog she'll still learn doggie behaviour.
We all know there are some people who shouldn't get involved in breeding, but they still do. You just have to hope that there are enough decent people out there to take on the pups!

I'm not optimistic and don't hope for the best, when it comes to anything i want facts there and then. I'd look at every single angle possible and then make a decission and outcome of that situation. I won't settle for... I hope things work out for the best.

She is absolutely gorgeous, she looks so small next to Blade, it's easy to forget how small they once were lol
Poor little darlings having their mum turn on them but at least she has Blade to learn from. Glad they're getting on

Most definatly you should have the pup you have done the right thing, the breeder on the other hand has not.

Some would argue that by paying for the dog you are supporting the breeder and her practices. I can only hope she has learned her lesson and never tries to breed her dogs again. You certainly are a responsible owner and you will do good by her. I know that I would have a hard time turning her away even knowing how irresponsible her breeder is. I am glad that Zena is with you, now and I just hope she has no health or behavioral problems from her poor breeding later in life. I'm really sorry about saying all of this, I really can't help myself, though, I have a problem with keeping my mouth shut (or fingers still) when it comes to issues like irresponsible breeders. It's very upsetting to me that people still breed dogs for the money instead of for the betterment of the breed and that is clearly what this woman has been doing.
Please feel free to completely ignore this post, I'm just venting and I'm really not trying to upset you or offend you.

Not going to be ignored, everyone has opinions, I for one haven't a clue on the subject, prefer to rescue.
But this isn't about that and for Xena, she has a new amazing home

well to be honest iam a bit upset and mad because i didnt ask to get the dog at 5 weeks but when the mum is turning on the pups and has an infected tete what can i do. let the pup get biten by her mum. i thought i was doing a good thing il sit with her all day and nite and make sure shes ok. i love her to bits and blade. shes eating loads and drinking. blade and zena are cudling in cage. iam going to the vets next week. shes doing ok shes strong running round chewing already. i dont blame the womon shes tryed her best shes been feeding all the pups by her self and hold down a job and kids. me and the g.f didnt have £1000 to get a proper breeders dog if i had the money i would have but iam happy with zena !!

Exactly, except I'd like to add that it's not all breeders. Just unethical ones, like this woman.

Re: zena at 5 weeks old
Adorable
I agree, 5 weeks IS young to be away from Mum, but if she was not caring for her pups and the lady could'nt cope then Pup is in the best place now. In a safe, secure, caring, loving home where she will thrive. Also having Blade around will be a great help in teaching her social skills too.
Looking forward to seeing more pics as she grows hint, hint

The pics are absolutely gorgeous, and I think all anyone is saying is that the lady who bred her should have kept her longer & been more [prepared to do something about the situation!
You, on the other hand, are obviously doing very well by her, and if the pics are to be believed, she looks extremely contented & well cared for!
She'll have a fantstic home with you and Blade.
(p.s. If she suddenly goes missing overnight, she'll be with me! )

I love it when Taz played with the pups they would run and jump on him and he would fall over onto his side so exaggerated as if the pups weighed a ton lol it was so adorable, Blade and Zena look gorgeous together, you must of raised him very well and Zena got a good owner and a gorgeous big brother well done.

Re: zena at 5 weeks old
Hi
We are new Staffy puppy owners too and just wanted to say we have had the pups since they were very young too as the mum wouldnt have anything to do with them and the breeder couldnt cope either. I know it is not an ideal situation to be in but the way we see it they are far better off with loving people who have the time and patience to give them an excellent start than left to fend for themselves. So I for one say WELL DONE YOU Oh and he is beautiful
