Re: Loch Ness Monster
I believe there are almost certainly animals in Loch Ness that we haven't discovered yet. I don't believe in 'Nessie', as such, but I'm open to the possibility of so-called 'monsters' in there. Deep water animals will very occasionally come to the surface, but the rarity of it means that, on the odd occasion anybody sees this happen, there will only be one, leading people to believe that there is one 'monster'.
The Loch is connected to the ocean through caves, so it's actually very likely that there are animals that have the typical monster-like appearance of deep-water animals. It's also deeper than the North sea, making it almost impossible to explore properly.
Add to this that animals in Loch Ness may be somewhat different from others of their species, due to the radioactivity in the bed of the Loch. Cue the giant seals and glowing fish!
