Re: DAMN
Yes that IS the worse case you should never hit him, from what I can see that is all totally normal stafford play, nothing out of the ordinary, but I'm sure someone who's had a puppy and older dog will be along shortly to offer more advice.

Re: DAMN
I've never had two dogs together so cannot really answer this one, it does look like normal Staffy play though and Lexi seems to be standing up for herself there.

Re: DAMN
This looks completely normal to me - something our 2 do every day. They do play very rough! Both your dogs are wagging their tails and look happy.

Re: DAMN
Hi Daryl - I can't view the photos unfortunately. I think the cuts and bites show up more on white dogs - Chloe sometimes has big red marks round her neck where Lola's had her, and I'm sure Lola has the same but we can't see them because she's dark. Lexy is obviously very patient If she really wanted to stop Diesel biting her, she could and would.

Re: DAMN
Just posted a comment on your vid
Daryll you can be sure this is normal the play is 2 ways and this is what they do to amuse themselves , a few scars are inevitable when you have 2 staffs , my older girl used to be the 1 with the scars as she would let him off a bit , now its the boy with the majority of the war wounds , nothing to worry about but always monitor them in case 1 of them goes too far , you will know if they decide to go for it

Re: DAMN
The video looks fine to me, I will try to post a video of my adult pair you should hear them. I just control them with my tone of voice and a clap when they get out of hand. I won't allow them to play like that outside where other dogs can join in. Sometimes you will get the odd war wound

Re: DAMN
I've never had two dogs at one time so shouldn't really comment, but I will anyway!
Diesel the puppy is being a typical puppy - play, play, play.
Lexy the older dog is tolerating him - joining in the play and demonstrating some gentle dominance. If she really hated it, she'd tell him so!
Can't see your pics but if Diesel drew blood I'd be pretty certain it was accidental - puppies' teeth are like needles!
Please come back here Daryll if you're still worried

Re: DAMN
I have to agree with everybody else here.
All you can do is step in if you feel it's getting too rough, but hitting won't actually get you anywhere. He doesn't actually know what he's done wrong because he was just playing & she was letting him play.
Pups will draw blood becaue their teeth are so sharp & they haven't learnt full bite inhibition yet, but it should settle down.

Re: DAMN
From my point of view (as someone who regularly has different dogs staying with my own one through fostering):
That play seems very tame, to be truthful.
The white one is clearly having fun and the little black one is learning the ropes.
If the young un was nipping the white one too hard (ie beyond what she's comfortable with), he'd soon be told by her, lol.
She'll set the boundary on that if needs be.
If you heard my own with some of the previous fosters, you'd probably dial 999 - they used to go at it hammer & tongs, yet it was still just play.

Re: DAMN
Never had 2 together either but does look like proper play to me.
As said just observe and step in if gets too out of hand.
Vinnie plays much rougher than that with his Beagle friend, but she soon puts him in his place if he oversteps the mark!

Re: DAMN
Very Normal, and get prepared for it to get noiser and worse looking. its just how they play and enjoy themselves.
this is my two having a lazy play https://youtu.be/c1cwNV_cvT4 when they are in the park or garden it gets alot more intense.
To be honest your two look like they are having a great time and are bonding really well. when young uns shark teath fall out youll get alot less cuts and marks.

Re: DAMN
Having grown up with dogs, some from pups, and now having my own staffie, all I see is normal play and very tame too. And yes I do agree puppies teeth are razor sharp hence the cuts. Please do not hit, its the worse thing as you know, all it does is teach them to be hand shy too.
