Hello from Sofia, Bulgaria
Hello all,
My name is Vladimir Ignatov and I live in Sofia, Bulgaria. I am the founder of "Jack Russell Terrier - Bulgaria" and owner of Bullet (a jack russell terrier). I want to have a second dog now and I am truly in love with the staffordshire bull terrier breed and I came across your page. I am a huge fan of Aston Villa and I want to take my dog from this area, Bullet's parents are also from Birmingham, imported in Bulgaria long time ago.
Will be very grateful to you all if you can help me to find some trustworthy breeders in this area? I already found : Janikastco, Manark & Elitebulls. And I prefer the blue line
Thanks in advance!
Greetings,
Vladimir Ignatov
P.S. Here are some photos & videos of Bullet

Re: Hello from Sofia, Bulgaria
It is not good to breed Blue on Blue due to the high risk of CDA ( colour dilution alapecia ) do you have a link to the breederrebelforlife wrote:Thanks guys!! I think I might have found the breeder that I was looking for!! I am so excited, here are the sire and the dame :

Re: Hello from Sofia, Bulgaria
Dad comes from 2 Blu parents too so another higher risk factor I would avoid the mating

Re: Hello from Sofia, Bulgaria
Here is the link of the kennel : http://www.felicitycheer.cz/staffordshire-bullterrier.php
Re: Hello from Sofia, Bulgaria
See this is a czech kennel so not much we can find out in the UK , all I can really say from my own opinion and knowledge is avoid it , the only way to get a Blue is to get from either 2 Black n Brindle parents or a Black and Blue mating
Guest- Guest
Re: Hello from Sofia, Bulgaria
I will ask them about the high risk of CDA and will see what they'll say. Could you tell me more about this disease?
Re: Hello from Sofia, Bulgaria
Well the last person I would be asking for advice on this would be the breeder
http://staffy-bull-terrier.com/how_to_buy_a_dilution_colour_dog
inside the link you will also find a link to CDA
The condition can skip generations too so just because the parents have not had problems does not guarantee the pups won't , but at the end of the day you came her for some advice and we are giving it to you , we can't make you accept it

Re: Hello from Sofia, Bulgaria
Any puppies from this mating would have a coefficient value of
1%
Of course, and I am thankful for your advice!

Re: Hello from Sofia, Bulgaria
And the other thing that I was thinking is that the dam is Blue brindle, and not just blue. Does this have any value and does it make the situation different?
Re: Hello from Sofia, Bulgaria
no its just a Blue thing , so solid Blue , Blue Brindle , Blue n White ........................ all the same

Re: Hello from Sofia, Bulgaria
How did you reach this COI figure ?? When I look to the Kennel club site for the Sire I get 3 hits 1 Lord of the Ring , and 2 Lord of the Rings ( no results on the last 2 ) so not enough info to know the calculation is correct and that I have the right dog , Sire and Dams come out at 7% and 9% or vice -versa ( I did it manually from the parents but this does not permit you to put together an accurate theoretical mating )rebelforlife wrote:Any puppies from this mating would have a coefficient value of

I am not sure if there will be any data if the Sire is registered in CZ
Guest- Guest
Re: Hello from Sofia, Bulgaria
The Sire is Lord Of The Rings and he is in Germany. http://www.stamtavler.com/dogarchive/details.php?id=134150
Re: Hello from Sofia, Bulgaria
Don't be Just keep looking , more often than not it is just a sign that the breeder is not so good and more about money than pups . Obviously there is a higher chance of 2 Blues producing Blue Pups , than from a Black / Blue mating . There are no other health issues associated with this though it is only the CDA in dilute dogs.rebelforlife wrote:
But I would go away from Blues and get a Red or a Black Brindle . If you want to show as well then it is generally much more difficult to get good results from a Blue , no matter how good they are for some reason the show judges just don't seem to want to rank them or most certainly in the UK and Ireland
Guest- Guest
Re: Hello from Sofia, Bulgaria
As I say if you go on Mateselect their are 2 results for "Lord of the Rings" and the site says that there is not enough data to make the calculation so I'm not sure where you are getting your figure of 1% from ???rebelforlife wrote:The Sire is Lord Of The Rings and he is in Germany. http://www.stamtavler.com/dogarchive/details.php?id=134150
If you look at the individual COI calc for the sire you will see what I mean , I think there is a problem with the records so you don't get the correct calculation

Re: Hello from Sofia, Bulgaria
By the way if this is of any matter - this will be the second litter of Lord and Wendy, here are the dogs from the previous one :
http://www.stamtavler.com/dogarchive/details.php?id=137750
http://www.stamtavler.com/dogarchive/details.php?id=134149
And something else that I am thinking - is there any way the puppies to be examined for PDA after they are born and before they leave for their new families?

Re: Hello from Sofia, Bulgaria
No there is no screening test for CDA and it may seem fine in the very early stages and dogs can be as old as 3 before it appears , it can pass by some dogs and not others so you really have no way of knowing I'm afraid until it is too laterebelforlife wrote:By the way if this is of any matter - this will be the second litter of Lord and Wendy, here are the dogs from the previous one :

Re: Hello from Sofia, Bulgaria
And I want to add Bullet to the Monthly Competition, how can I do this?
Re: Hello from Sofia, Bulgaria
Hi and welcome to the forum from Rocky and I!
You can enter Bullet (who is gorgeous by the way) in the monthly photo competition here:
https://staffy-bull-terrier.niceboard.com/f57-monthly-photos-competition
The competitions are currently at the voting stage, so at the start of next month the new entries will open, and you can enter Bullet in the 'Other Pets' category! I hope this helps, and good luck!

However Dave is correct about the line, there are too many Blue on Blue matings. I was unaware of this when I got Lily, I would have chosen differently had I been aware of this at the time.

And I withdrew my interest at the blue couple, so if everything goes according to plan I'll be coming to Birmingham to take my dog in May 2014!!! I am really excited!!! >
Re: Hello from Sofia, Bulgaria
Mmm , beautiful looking dogs but guess they have some common ancestors on both sides between either Sire and the Dam but I have to say I love the look of Alport Fire Cracker , just the COI increases putting the 2 together , and remains more or less the same with the other pairing , only up to 9% though

Re: Hello from Sofia, Bulgaria
You are welcome, Dave! Both options for a Sire are amazing dogs, I am so happy! And I will be the first ever export for Elitebulls, this will be truly an honor for me! If there are some og you around Birmingham we can meet in May, it will be a pleasure for me!
Re: Hello from Sofia, Bulgaria
I think I know the owner of Elitebulls via FB , will have to go looking So what will you do drive over to take puppy home to Bulgaria ???
You could pay me to fly out there and deliver pup + 1 weeks expenses , we might just have to wait a month until the sun comes out though Big choice for me , 1 week in the sun in Bulgaria or free Puppy
