I used to have sleep terrors, where you wake up in REM sleep so are still paralysed mine used to play out that I felt like there was some one in the room who would grab my ankles then pull me at speed out of the bed which made me feel like i was on a roller coaster and I would be sure I screamed but it never woke my parents etc when I was in their home

Re: come on tell your weirdest moment
I'v told this story before, so I apologise to anyone who's already heard it.....
I was writing a fictional biography of Mary Jane Kelly (the last Jack the Ripper victim - a young Irish prostitute). Sitting on my own (oh at work - night shift - kid in bed, but only about 2 1/2 years old & 12 months old) at about 11pm at the word processor which was by the front room window. The curtains were closed & all was quiet.
"Caryll" said an Irish woman's voice.
Nobody in the room. Nobody in the house apart from me & the kids. Look out the window. Nobody in the street.
"Caryll" it comes again. Again, nobody outside & nobody in the house.
Three times that woman called my name & I swear there was nobody around.
I stopped writing, turned the WP off and it stopped. I never took up that story again, and I never heard her call my name again.....

not had one for about 5 years, but you can kind of manipulate them if you know thats what is happening and feel like you are having an out of body experience, looking down on yourself. But I think it was sleeping on my back that triggered it tend to avoid it now

Spooky Mrs C.
I saw my dad just after he had died. I woke up one night when I still lived at home and he was just stood there. I wasn't afraid and it was really surreal. Now it may have been a dream but if it was it was the strangest feeling I have ever felt.
And yours Steve?

Re: come on tell your weirdest moment
I may also have told mine before??
One night I was laid in bed and I heard my sister come into the room, get on the bed and crawl up to me, except I then realized there was no one there!! Now I;m almost certain I was awake but you never know, dreams can be very real. Some told me that it would have been my guardian angel, I quite like that

Re: come on tell your weirdest moment
Back in Lincolnshire no light noise and yea I had a drink. Walking home and Three lights in sky move from right to left then stay still for about 10 seconds then move off in diff directions at speed faster than ive seen anything move. Its fighter county and im used to seeing raf jets day in day out. I felt a cold chill down my spine on this one.

Weirdest Moment 1
I was walking my Dobie along the narrow path beside our small river. It was raining slightly and I had my umbrella up. I heard a noise - a regular thrum - thrum - thrum. I looked behind me incase a madman cyclist was coming up at speed behind us - no. Immediately the thrum - thrum noise got louder and there was a definite feeling of a regular downward pressure. I was scared!
In terror I tipped my umbrella back and looked upward - just at the moment 10 or 12 swans flew overhead at very low altitude and very fast, they were in tight formation and their wings were beating exactly in time causing a loud "thrum" and a very frightening regular heavy downbeat of air.
I've never experienced anything like it - for a split second I believed in spaceships!

Re: come on tell your weirdest moment
Whilst in bed one night sort of half awake, felt a very strong presence of someone in the room. I lived on my own at this time and not in a very good place, anyway someone or something picked the duvet up from the bottom and shook it, as you do when you make the bed, so it was completely covering me over.
Perhaps looking after me or just me off my head!

Re: come on tell your weirdest moment
Loving all these stories, I cannot think of anything weird that has happened to me apart from getting married
I'm sure something will come to me though maybe later.

I just took it as having a friend at that time. Just not the hassle that goes with it!

Re: come on tell your weirdest moment
Weirdest Moment 2 (as promised)
Hubby and I were sleeping soundly in bed. I was awoken at some God-awful time by a noise. It was very loud, and like a very very rapid rattling and was coming from the built-in wardrobe. I switched on the bedside light and immediately the rattling started stuttering and soon stopped. It even awoke Hubby who would sleep through an earthquake - he admitted he had heard it but "it's stopped now" and went to go back to sleep - he wouldn't let me keep any lights on, not even the hall light. I was seriously scared.
Daylight broke and I looked in the cupboard. On the floor of it was a very large (empty) vodka bottle which was supposed to collect money (like a piggy bank) but never did. The screw lid was only half screwed on and when I rattled it it sounded like what I'd heard (except that the sound in the night was much louder and much faster than I could achieve). I asked Hubby if he thought this was the sound we'd heard in the night, and he said yes. It really bothered me as to why the lid should rattle suddenly in the middle of the night, why it was so much louder and so much faster than I could replicate, and why it should stutter and stop as soon as I put the light on. So I screwed the lid on tightly and took it down two floors to the utility room, to dispose of later. I put it on the floor, away from doors and passage of anyone.
Next day, it was lying where I put it - smashed to a thousand pieces.
Oh, and not long beforehand, our adjoining next-door neighbour who was a seriously disturbed man and was alcoholic, and who knocked at our door asking us for alcohol, had killed himself.
Unlike my swan story, I just can't explain this.

Re: come on tell your weirdest moment
Yep. Creepy feelings and fouling my underwear doesn't come near to describing how scared I was.
I'll never be able to explain it, so I don't try. It's done and gone - I don't feel any "presence" and can sleep peacefully in the same bedroom.
