Gave Dempsey a Kong

He's been bouncing off walls, going silly and having little inappropriate and very messy 'episodes' on the sofa because he hasn't been able to go on long walks or play properly since he hurt his leg. It's worse than usual because he's gotten used to playing with the flirt pole, so now he has loads of energy and doesn't know what to do with it.

I filled his Kong (his little pink puppy one) with fishy biscuits and sealed it in with peanut butter. He loved it, but it was one of those times that reminded me of just how thick he can be.  There's a small hole in the narrow end (wouldn't use it if it didn't have two holes, as it could be dangerous otherwise) and he kept trying to lick that, looking confused because nothing was coming out. I'd turn it around so that the peanut butter end was facing him, but he'd still work his way around to the small end. Eventually, he gave up because he wasn't getting anything, so I had to squeeze it and show him what to do!  He's not very good at it!

Aww Dempsey, I'm sure you'll get the hang of it soon

I probably made it a little too difficult for him. I'll put his fishy biscuits in there on their own tomorrow so that they fall out easily and he can get the hand of it.

Aww make it easier for him Eleanor. Dempsey you will get the hang of it  

 Peanut butter in itself is difficult for him. He spends about ten minutes trying to lick it off his own tongue, ending up transferring it from his tongue to his nose.

Awww Demspey, I'm sure he would have me in fits of giggles all day long   

He did manage to chase the kong around the 2nd time & get the biscuits out, but he left most of them on the floor!

I really do think that the silly little pink puppy kong is beneath his contempt, though! 

 He does need a bigger Kong. The little pink one is too small to get his tongue inside.

It was funny when he finally managed to get the treats to fall out last night. He seemed fascinated by the fact that there were things coming out and kept pushing it around, but didn't eat any of the food!  It was just after his dinner though, so he was probably just full up.
