Hello all
Hello everyone,
I just thought I would say hello as I am the proud new owner of an 8 week old, razor toothed bitch Staffy.
I collected her yesterday as the person who bought her thought it was a good idea to have a pup in a flat and only had her for two weeks before realising it was a mistake. She did the right thing by advertising her and we went to fetch her as soon as we could. I do think that six weeks old was a little early for her to have left her mom but there's nothing I can do about that.
I have had many rescue dogs but never a Staffy or a pup, and so far I have realised that when she is calm, she is very loving but when it's time to play, the teeth are lethal. Any advice out there to start the training in relation to biting. I read that a high pitched "OUCH" is advised but as a bloke, I can't do it. I am saying no in a firm voice at the moment, is this the right way to go or are there other effective methods?
I would take any advice that you have to offer in relation to anything Staffy.
Thanks in advance
Steve

Re: Hello all
Hi and welcome from me and Daisy Aww yes 6 weeks is too young to leave her mum but like you say, nothing that can be done now!
To be honest I did find the 'yelping' method worked for us (but I didn't have Daisy from a pup!) Have a look at this link
