it seems ive made a short rope for myself with leaving zya ..she doesnt chew or wreck the place she howls and barks ALOT my neighbours are very understanding luckily ...when i return i ignore her as her anxiety levels are thru the roof once she's calm i say hello ..ive tried treats and ive spent a small fortune on gadgets to entertain her but nothing is working i leave her for short intervals and return but shes still highly strung even after only 5-10 mins.please can anyone give me some advice as i hate to think of her so stressed ..thanks x

Re: separation issues
In short, all you can do is go right back to basics. Even if it's stepping out of the room and closing the door behind you. Make yourself unavailable to her throughout the day, so she gets used to settling herself. Perhaps just leave the room while she eats her dinner.
My sister has had good results with Dorwest herbs scullcap and valerian, which seems to take the edge of the anxiety.

Re: separation issues
thanks for responding and it seems so (back to basics)..although i have been separating myself more and more in the home she's not too bad with being unable to get to me as she knows im still at home but once i go out and come back in its like ive been gone hours even if its jus to take the rubbish out ..im not 100% about remedys at the moment but if it is continuing after ive tried the basics again and its still causing her to have a break down ill have to try sutn ..thank you x

Re: separation issues
Hi
i to have the same problem i have to leave my 14 month old barry every day
he is very attached to me he has only just started going out in the yard on his own but i have to leave the door open so he knows he can get in.
Im am trying the rescue remedy drops and i got him a thundershirt aswell
as he hates getting in the car..
So hopefully this works .... im trying the basics slow and steady...

Re: separation issues
Yes for sure they will get the hang of it..
Barry was a rescue dog very skinny and not much loved
Now he gets so spoilt and lots of love and has put on weight
Now plays ball and enjoys his walks but we still have a little way to go..
Hope Zya settles soon...
