Boomer Ball Help
Hi,
Lou has a 10 inch boomer ball, she loves it, goes crazy playing with it, but after about 15 mins of playing with it she usually manages to cut her mouth or tongue on it, so that its bleeding. I then have to take it off her. Then i feel like i cant give it to her everyday as i need for the current cuts to heal.
Does this happen to your pooch when playing with their boomber ball? Do you maybe keep play to a minimum with it?

Re: Boomer Ball Help
Zeus has had his boomer ball for about a year now and has never happened to him. Does Lou cut her self from the indents on the ball?

Re: Boomer Ball Help
Take a bit of rough sandpaper to it and sand off any rough bits. The instructions for boomer balls do say you may need to do this.
Tedster spends ages chucking his around the garden and it has had rough patches where it has hit the wall of the house and because he can't pick it up he tends to push it around with his nose so he has ended up with minor scabs on his nose, doesn't stop him wanting to play with it though
Regards

Re: Boomer Ball Help
I think its from when she is banging against the ball as she dribbles it around - there arent that many scratches on it as it is so big, she cant get any purchase on it whatsoever. We've had it a fair few months.

Re: Boomer Ball Help
I think its just something you have to live with.
My friends two collies who are both ball and stick obsessed play so hard that minor cuts to tounges and around their mouths are just something that happens, it doesn't seem to bother them.
I know what you mean though, Tedster only needs his boomer for 5 minutes and it's totally covered in dog drool. I think sometimes that big staffy tounge just gets in the way.

Re: Boomer Ball Help
Lola is the same with hers as she is obsessive with it. She gets cut and grazed under her chin, she has worn the hair off her chin. I only let her have it for a short play supervised

Depending on how good at sewing you are, you could try making a cover for it. Just pop it in an old t-shirt or something. Or, live with it, as others have suggested.
