Just A Question For A Friend
This is a question for the girl that i brought Bruno from.
Her Staffy gave birth to four beautiful puppies 2 girls 2 of her friends brought them and I brought 1 of the boys and a guy in Sandy brought the last one. He had him on her facebook and messaged him to see if the pup had settled in and how he was doing and she got a reply then he deleted her. She messaged him and he's not replied, So now all things are going through her mind, ie the puppy being sold for fighting.
Is that a way for her to find out or because she has sold him , its none of her business, i think it will be the second one.
Thanks for a information

Re: Just A Question For A Friend
i'm not sure what she could do, if i was a breeder i would of sell them to friends and family.
Re: Just A Question For A Friend
Must be so hard for your friend wondering how her pup is getting on.
Too late for her now but it's always a good idea to draw up a contract when selling pups,so you can stipulate that you'd like updates on the pup/s and also that if they feel they can no longer care for him/her then they come back to you.
I really hope your friend gets some news soon. x

I agree totally with contracts as long as they have been worded by a professional so that there are no 'get-outs'. However, a contract is only good if you know where the pup is! In this case, I'm afraid there's absolutely nothing she can do except hope.

Re: Just A Question For A Friend
This is the problem i had and still have with Taz and Cassie sister. So when Cassie had her pups i wrote up a contract so it wouldn't happen again and i would stay informed of any major changes but unless she has that contract or address to visit. or even a vorbal agreement that she would be informed there is nothing that can be done. If she is that worried though and that the area is well known for those kinda of things (dog baiting/fighting) she could call an animal organisation and tell them and they could possible do something.

Re: Just A Question For A Friend
Awwww thats a shame!!!!!!!!
I very much doubt that the scum who do that particular thing will pay money for a dog like that they steal or use the older ones for bait and usually buy from proven stock so tell her try not to worry.
My guess is the person who has deleted her decided he wanted privacy and had bought the puppy and wanted nothing else from the breeder.
If she had kc reg the puppies then she could of asked the kc to advise her of any change of ownership but other then that its sold end of .
This is what makes my heart break about breeding.
I agree with contracts you know exactly were you stand.

It is sad I would love to know how Millys brothers and sisters are but only a couple of us keep in touch such a shame.

Re: Just A Question For A Friend
lets hope there is a purely innocent explanation for the deleting of the facebook account!
As you know Jethro is my 4 legged son ( okay 4 legged spoilt brat! ) and I kept the original add for him out the paper.. and his puppy collar etc... ( soppy I know ) About 3 years ago I phoned the number on his add... the people were thrilled to hear from me, and we took Jethro to meet his mum again after about 9 years! She was 13 by then. They had always wondered how the pups got on, but I was the only one to ever get in contact with them. His mum Cinta never had any more puppies after that first litter. Have to admit I haven't heard from them since, I did give them my number.

Re: Just A Question For A Friend
Aww that photos sweet.
Hi Anne - Are the puppies Kennel Club registered?
I always write a massive long contract with any pups I sell, that way the person buying them is bound that if they rehome the puppy they have to give it back to me. They also sign a welfare clause.

I would do the same, but you have to rely on the owners keeping in touch. If they don't, you can't enforce the contract.

Re: Just A Question For A Friend
Its true but if you know where they live and they have signed the contract then you can keep an eye on them. It also give you the legal right to seize the dog if they do not comply with the contract, if you have just exchanged pup and cash with no written agreement then you dont have that power.

Vanessa is that Jethro's mum? What colour is she??? Charlie is exactly the same colour but with black rims and mask.
People ask me what colour he is but I never now what to say, he is too light to be a fawn or fawn smut which is what I thought when he was small, but he's not dark or red enough to be a red.

Re: Just A Question For A Friend
This is the first ever pic of Jethro that I scanned recently, it was the day I took him home. Can't believe he was ever that tiny ! This was his mum back when she was about 3 ( Jethro was 8 weeks!! ) She looked more a tan colour back then ... not sure how you would describe that colour really.

Re: Just A Question For A Friend
I would call Jethros mum red. I think your Charlie is a light red, almost fawn I think you could call him either!
Here are a few different shades;
Charlie - Tali's Daddy - (Rich) Red
Random Googled Stafford - Fawn
[b]Another Random - (light) Red
Yankeestaff Preacher - Blue Fawn

I know what u mean about how small they were i got Harley @ 8 weeks and couldn't believe how tiny he was i used to carry him om my chest & left shoulder- now i can't pick him up lol. I call him doodlebug because of how little he was. He wasn't the runt of his litter but he was still small compared to most of them.
