Our walk tomorrow / Today Updated with pics :D
It is now officially today's walk was absolutely great so if anyone lives not too far away a good one to recommend , did take a little longer than expected though due to extra stops because of the sun and a whingeing daughter it took us 5 hours

It's only 10km actually so not too bad , only problem is after doing a bit of research just found out I will have to pay £5 to park my car there so we are going to try and do an early start to get there for about 8.30 in the morning and blag a free space Better really as not so warm be hopefully done by 12 taking it nice and steady and home for some beer

There is a pub but I plan on being past it around 10.00am if all goes well , suppose we could always go to the one at the end of the walk instead ( around 12.00 ?? )Inezmaria70 wrote:Looks like a good day planned Dave, hope you all have a fab time.

Didn't you say before you used to visit Ashbourne area Kathy ?? this is just basically to to the left of the Tissington trail . Just actively looking for round routes rather than walk half way and turn around , def going to buy myself a reasonable hand held gps thoughKathy wrote:That looks like a great walk, wish we something like that nearer to us. Have been on various camping holidays around Peak District area - Hope Valley, Edale and Carsington Water. I love the area so much and want to get back there someday, hopefully even move up there if we can get a homeswap through our housing association. I would move there tomorrow if we could.

Well Kathy if you ever want to live in my shed rent free you are more than welcomeKathy wrote:Have been on various camping holidays around Peak District area - Hope Valley, Edale and Carsington Water. Love the area , almost as good as the lakes , Edale is beautiful and so much interest for everyone with all the caves etc , used to go to Blackwall Plantation caravan club site as my favourite destination as a beautiful place , on the side of Carsington Reservoir and only 40 mins drive with the caravan from home.
if you ever move up here you have a dog walking friend

You got some lovely shots there Dave, what a beautiful part of the world is it. It looks very similar to Dovedale where hubby and me had a lovely walk along the river Dove a few years ago.

Re: Our walk tomorrow / Today Updated with pics :D
Thanks everyone , chuffed to bits as I picked out the walk from OS Mapping and it was perfect , we arrived in Hartington at about 09.00 and for the 1st 1/3 of the walk ( just over 6 miles ) was all off lead and didn't see a soul , then they went on their long lines and just a few people passing here and there, great views plenty of runarounds for them and would thoroughly recommend anyone in the area taking it as a good day out , took us just about 5 hours but we weren't walking hard and probably had over 1 hour in stops / breaks . It's a lovely part of the world
