Just a little vid of one of my skydives from the weekend. Once a fledgling skydiver has passed their basic training I can then coach them how to fly safely with other people. I have the camera and the lad opposite me was on his qualification jump needing to complete 5 formations - he got 6 Smile

Fantastic Jules , I did a static line jump when I was 18 , I think at the time you had to do 6 good static jumps to progress onto freefall and I wanted to do it but none of my mates at the time were interested , we started a society at Polytechnic but they were a bunch of idiots and none got past first base Sad so that was my dream over

When I did mine it was only a baby jump but a fantastic feeling once I had all my lines uncrossed and stuff and just floating down with a couple of mates around me ( 6 of us did it together ) but the best for me was it was the first time I'd ever been in an aeroplane and I had to jump out of it , sort of instantly cured any fears of flying I may have had Laughing

If only you weren't too far. Been planning to go out to the airport and do this. We have a great outfit about 10 min from my house... My wife just keeps reminding me I don't need more hobbies... You guys did great!

I don't know if you would remember this Jules as looking at your age on the forum you would be about 8 years old at the time but there was a woman in the UK did a paprachute jump ( I think it was just a 1 off static line jump for charity like mine ) and landed in the blades of a helicopter on the airfield

My jump was about 1 month after Sad I remember it being one of the instructors first comments that this airfield had no helicopters using it

Big Grin after nearly 9 years in the sport it doesn't seem that extreme anymore

Quite a few of my friend that jump won't go up a ladder, a lot compare it to looking out of a commercial flight window you don't get that height reference that you would on the top of a cliff etc

Do it, part of me getting in to it is my parents live in the village next to the drop zone so we would regularly see the parachutes

I don't remember it but have had the story relayed by jumpers who were there at the time. Don't know if I would have kept going if I didn't have a group of friends that had started training before me also going, still of the 5 of us from work only 2 completed the training and the other guy freaked at about 200 jumps and never came back to it
