hi everyone just wanting some advice please, I'm off to the pet store in a while to get him something for him to do his business in lol! the breeder uses a litter tray with sawdust at the moment that he usesbut said i could switch to puppy mats if I choose; though she finds the the tray easier to dispose of. if i get a litter tray is it the same as a cats or do they have their own type, and secondly are mats much better/easier? what did/do you use please? thanx again

ps he hasnt had his injections yet so will be keeping him inside till i get his first jab next week but when he has I will encourage him to use outside. thanx again

I believe you can use cat litter trays for them as well, provided it's the right size. Some people do prefer to use mats for training, as they're disposable and easy to use.

The people in the pet shop should be able to give you some advice Smile

Sorry , we did use pads for a while then newspaper but only for their crates in the very early stages , they both went straight out into the garden only as there is only my 2 go in there so really worked on outside toilet from day one

Bruno has nothing, he goes out in the garden every hour or so, after meals and after play time and he rarely has an accident in the house.
It's personal choice but I think if you train them to use pads or a litter box you then have to retrain them to go outside so we've just been taking him outside from day one.

Can't help, sorry. We have an enclosed garden so worked on going outside from the start with just some newspapers as a precaution.

We went outside from day one, however as the house is 2 story there were emergency pee pads upstairs until the stairs were able to be mastered independently. Worked well for us, however I will say that training Chiquito out of the option for inside peeing was hard work!
