New members with a Staffy and a baby on the way
Happy to have found this site and eager to learn more from others with the same love for the Staffordshire.
Husband and I have a 10 year old son and one on the way:D ,11 month old AM Staffy -Bella and a 6 year old Cocker Spaniel- Miley. My name is Jen 39, DH is Kris 36, DS Jacob -10
DH and I were trying to conceive for almost a year when we were told by Fertility Specialist that odds were against us and unlikely to conceive, maybe chance using IVF. We opted not to do it. We always talked about getting a puppy/dog if having a baby wasn't possible. So for Christmas 2012 I surprised my DH with our Bella! She has been a great addition to our family and we love her dearly! I bought her as a pup at 6 weeks old and the constant efforts of raising her have not wavered. She is a hand full with lots of character, love, and needless to say, ENTERTAINMENT! Our cocker spaniel (Miley) has mothered Bella since we brought her home and they now seem like sisters/best friends.
Now up to date...In January we miraculously found out that WE'RE PREGNANT!! A complete surprise and miracle!!!! We are over the moon and will be expecting our new son within 8 weeks if not less. We feel that we are prepared, but we are concerned if our Bella will be as happy as we are. She is used to being center of attention and is bit of a bully. HA! GO figure!! We would love to hear from others on their experience and any advice. Thanks for reading and look forward to being apart of the forum

Re: New members with a Staffy and a baby on the way
You will be fine staffies love kids and I don't mean in the way the papers say , my grandson (2 1/2) now is forming a huge bond with Tommy
My OH was a childminder with our 2 until October last year . Just introduce them gently , get a blanky from the hospital and put it in Bella's bed so she is used to the smell of the new arrival and just let her say hello . Try as much as possible to make sure her routine isn't changed . It's a great excuse for more walks as baby will enjoy the fresh air too
