I think the government or whoever in control of allow things should ask the public first i think it's disgraceful hey i dont mind people with HIV being an GP or whatever but working with needles is wrong!! what about if you jump or something and the needles goes in you and them becasue this what happen to me dad, at work he nearly cut off his finger and nurse was jabbing him with an needles and she must of hit something made him jump and went into her hand.

As someone who works in healthcare I can see it from both views. Something that people will have strong opinions on. It's a tricky one because people shouldn't be discriminated because if their medical history but I can see why people will be concerned. But look at it from the other side, people who require medical treatment for HIV aren't refused treatment because of the 'risk' to doctors etc. I take blood and use needles on a daily basis and it would be incredibly difficult for me to give myself a needle stick injury and then 'contaminate' a patient with the needle or my blood.
I'm still in the fence until I read it through properly but I'm sure there will be many heated debates!
