Timothy

It has been twelve weeks old boy. Twelve weeks since you cuddled up to me and lay your head on my shoulder. Everyone says I should not be sad anymore, that I've made the right choice for you. It hurt that you're not here, and I feel so guilty.

Guilty that I didn't catch on earlier. Cancer is such a small word. Six letters that can lay such distruction. Then again its the one trait you and I shared on our ten year journey; the ability to hide that we were in trouble.

I could fool others that I was fine but never you. On my most destructive days when the bipolar would drop me so low that I just wanted to die you stuck to me like glue and kept me from doing something stupid. You'de drop your ball on my lap and we would end up playing fetch.

If you were here now your tongue would clean my tears. It feels like I failed you. Thank you Tim for being my best friend. You know you were and always be my best boy.

Your dad got us a new puppy. You would have liked her. She is not a GSD like you but she sure is cute. I hope there is a lot of moles for you to try and catch where you are now. I miss you so much but after you helped me deal with my pain - I could not let you suffer.

Holding you and keeping you calm while they put you to sleep was the hardest things I ever had to do but you deserved to go to sleep with dignity and peace; not riddled with pain that made you hurt if I just touched you. Even the vet creid and you two never seen eye to eye since you hated needles and vets so much.

Run free old boy, rest in peace

Read that through tears, times a great healer, he may be gone but his memory will never be forgotten. Run free until you meet again Xx

Tip is helping to heal the hole in your mum's heart, but she will always love you and remember you - with more gladness and fewer tears as time goes by - but she won't forget you.
