You never see hedgehogs round here anymore, I heard it's because the badgers eat them?

Have done these are African pygmys.

Wild ones are very low but there are more out there than people think, lots of people go and try and make a nest for them in woodland areas to provide a shelter for them

There are loads of hedgehogs round here & quite a few badgers, so I don't think they eat too many of them!

I think it's more foxes and cars and the really bad winters, they were in very long hibernation and a lot didn't come out this year due to lack of food

You can't really imagine anything eating a hedgehog, with all those spikes!

No  I don't usually but during the snow that stayed for ages I put some food out for the birds to try and help them!

I know pets at home have been doing lots of wildlife houses

They are so cute!! Button was 8 weeks when we got him, gypsy we are not so sure cause we rescued her. she had 5 homes in january, hence the name. Buttons quite laid back most of the time but gypsy is really huffy, she pops and hisses, it's quite cute really xx

We have a big shortage of hedgehogs around here too, could we borrow yours

Dyson i got at 8 weeks, Twinkle and Ceridwen are both from the hog rescue as they were given up, Twinkle is nearly 5! and Ceridwen is 4

Omg and the are only supposed to have a short lifespan, it's defo got to do with the care they receive

Yer average is about 3 but twinkle is definitely showing her age now

None around here - might be more to do with where I live than the weather though I think. (We do have echidnas which are kind of the same ... I don't think they are quite as cute though!)
