should i report
my dog has got attacked again today, for the 4th time by the same dog. first time I witnessed it today with my kids. my dog on lead hers off although she knows it doesn't like mine. it was very scary and my dog tried to give as good as she got. im getting very angry because tash is now becoming more reactive to dogs. do you think I should report before my dog gets into trouble for fighting back

Re: should i report
Yes!
The authorites need to be aware of it before there's a really bad attack on either Tash, or another dog. The owner needs to be made aware that it isn't acceptable!

Yes I would, you cannot let your dog go around off lead attacking other dogs, totally irresponsible and dangerous!

Re: should i report
Oh dear, poor Jules, poor Tash.
Have you tried talking calmly and reasonably with this other dog's owner, explain that Tash is still a puppy but is getting scared? And please could she keep control of her dog when Tash is around?

Yes report it to the local dog warden if you can. You should be able to contact them through your local council website.

Re: should i report
What an irresponsible owner . I would give her one last chance. Ask her to put her dog on a lead if it is hassling Tash and explain she is upsetting your dog. If the owner is not prepared to do this I would definitely report the owner. You, Tash and the kids should not have to witness this

Re: should i report
I hope you are all ok.
Stupid woman! If she knows her dog attack why let it off the lead!! Irresponsible dog owner!! I too would report it, she can't think that it is acceptable!
It's a shame though because there is only the owners to blame.

Re: should i report
I would report it for sure! Thats totally irresponsible and very dangerous, especially with your kids around! If you want you to give her one last chance you could try to talk to her calmly and ask for her to please keep her dog on lead and if her dog continues to attack your dog that you are going to report it! It may scare her enough to stop being irresponsible and put her dog on lead! However since it has happened 4 times you definitely would be right to report her and could do so without warning her! Poor Tash! I hope everyone okay and you and your kids are too shaken up

Re: should i report
I told her yesterday that she needs to put her dog on the lead, she came up with the excuse that she hadn't seen me. I always put my dog on a lead if I don't know the dog which I did yesterday. We were walking happily past (she had plenty of time to see us and didn't even try and call her dog back), it came running over teeth bared and started biting my dog back. She tried to tell it where to go but was getting tangled up in the lead. the woman came over and tried to get her dog on the lead with the excuse that its just my dog that her dog does it too! I was fuming, I ended up wacking her dog with my ball launcher as tash was tangled up under my legs and the dog was really going for her. I felt awful doing it but tash is my fur baby and the owner was useless.
I told her then that she needs to put her dog on the lead around us as Tash is now becoming reactive to other dogs and its not fair on her as she is a lovely dog but she gets very scared now when dogs run up to her.
The dog seems to be a collie mix and the woman rescued her some months back apparently, which is all good, but if she knows her dog is reactive to some dogs, surely you make sure you have good recall and put your dog on a lead unless you know the other dog.
My husband is going to go on Saturday minus Tash and see if he can find this woman (he's witnessed it 3 times) and tell her to put her dog on a lead because if it happens again we're going to report her!

Re: should i report
I would report now! The next time you, tash or your children might not be so lucky to get away unharmed. And how many other dogs is it doing this to? She should keep it on the lead at all times!

Poor Tash, that's horrible, I agree I would definitely report straight away, you have asked nicely and tried to reason with her, and she wont comply, if something serious was to happen its not right. Hope Tash is okay, let us know how you get on x

Re: should i report
I would report now!! This woman is clearly irresponsible and doesn't care about other people/dogs! It is bound to happen again if not to you, to someone else! She has had numerous chances to stop being irresponsible and hasn't! Don't feel bad about hitting the other dog, I would have done the same exact thing if a dog ever tried to attack Gwen! Is Tash okay? Please report this woman!
