Dropped Blondy off at the vets this morning I did want to leave her i was going to sit outside in the parking lot and wait till 4-5 to pick her up as well, Very anxious today just the thought of her being alone in the kennels/being poked and prodded being cut open its doing my head in, I even asked the surgion a few question about his qualification and how many times he has done it in the past and how many he has lost, watching his hands the entire time to see how good his nerves were. Maybe i went over the top.
On a liter note I got snapped at twice by two different dogs one was for walking past and the other was for bending down to pick up vet card.
This sweet little Terrier cross also came in for spaying clung to my side and wouldn't leave me, she sat by my feet and refused to move for her owners to the point she was choking on the collar on lead in the end i had to walk to the consultation room with them very sweet little dog...Don't think the owners liked it very much though.

I just wanted to show you how well Blondy is healing, The first few pics are a little ugly looking though.

Aw, poor Blondy, but I'm sure she'll be just fine. All you have to do now is find some way of keeping her quiet for a few days! Good luck with that! Big Grin

She's a good girl i know i can keep her calm for a few days its just getting the adults to stay quiet as well which is going to be hard because they need a run or play down the allotments and Blondy won't be able to Sad

I know exactly what your going through, but I was amazed at just how well Hollie coped with it all. She came out of vets looking a bit disorientated and with a little red bandage on her front leg...bless...she was out of it all evening and shivering, so I wrapped her up in blankets and just kept things quiet for her. The next morning you would have never have guessed she'd just had the op.
I'm sure everything will be fine, licks and hugs from Hollie xx

Hey guys sorry for late update but is been heptic here.
Blondy is fine back to her usual self already although she is whining quite alot I'v got pain meds to give her but other than that she is doing pretty fine and is nice and calm, She got a nice wound about two inches and she got three stitch, The horrible thing is, i'm having to seperated her from the adults most of the time which she doesn't like and neither do they so i got all three of them complaining. Especially Taz he really got his hair off today completly ignoring me playing extremely rough with Cassie to the point she run over to me and he is trying to mont her at wits end and its only been a day.
While i was at class today the adults in the crate and Blondy just ouside the crate with her bed etc she chewed her buster collar while it was on her so when i got back the collar was half chewed and hanging off of her but luckily she only cleaned the wound and didn't pull out any stitchs freaked me right out but luckily i'v finished my course now so i'm all eyes on her.
She got the post op appointment tomorrow just to check it out but its looking really good and nice and clean too. then te days time she got her stitchs out. Then she can go back to her boisterous play times Big Grin

Funny you should say that because she just urinated and there was blood in it. Now i was expecting blood in the first couple of wee's after the operation and i know its pretty common but i'm not taking the risk especially sinse she has had UTI's in the past So i took a sample (just incase) But she is just fine in her self.

I'v seen many videos of animal operations from joint fixing/pinning to removing splinters, they are so rough with them because their under anaesthetic, I hated the thought of them treating Blondy that way.

She's doing fine today back to her usual self keep on fogetting she gotta take it easy, Her wound is healing lovely the vet said and she isn't too concerned with the blood in the urine because of the rest of her behaviour is completly normal etc but if it happens again take another sample and she will look it over. Other than that everything's fine and she is very much back to her old tricks which usually results in giving me a heart attack.

Well she was fine earlier brilliant even but tonight now she has been really quiet and i just checked her out and her wound has quite a large lump on the right side of it(as long as the wound itself but fatter) and where the stitch's go into the skin is really red like its being pushed/preasure wise an organ or flesh pushing throw. I think she may have another hernia Sad
Like they didn't stitch the the inside properly. I'll get in touch with the vet later on today and i'll let you guys know.

ok well i took her to the vets this morning even though the swelling had gone during the night but there was still a hard lump there just not as large as it was. The vet had a look. The vet found the inner scaring/stitches wound being a little inflamed and she found a small tear there aswell, but it will heal once the inner wound has healed. Just got to wait and see now and keep her calm for even longer.
Poor Blondy screamed her head off when the vet was poking around by her wound. She's alright now though sound asleep.

Ok then well the tear has healed lovely but it turns out Blondy is allergic to the inner stitches which is why when they started to disolve it all swelled up also the vets said because of her bad reaction to them she is likely to have a bumpy scar for life Sad But no more vets now for another 6 months......I hope *crosses figners*
