Hello, I'm new on here, I have a staffy x lab who we rescued he was in a council pound and was rescued by a charity and then we saw him and loved him, he's about 3 and has typical staffy personality!! He's really quiet and hardly ever barks or growls, brilliant round the kids but he is very possessive of his sticks when out walking.

Hello everyone!! Sorry put the pictures on from my phone, not sure how else to do it. . . Anyone with any advice on his possessiveness with sticks, greatly appreciated, we kind of got messed about with the rescue place and not heard a thing from them, we don't have much info on him, he is very loving dog but when out walking once he's found a stick he won't let go if you do manage to get it off him if you're not quick throwing it he will jump up and snatch, he also hates cats and has gone for a chicken but is wonderful around other dogs but then was in a kennels with many other dogs.

It maybe that he needs more time to settle in with and learn to trust you a bit more.

Thank you for that, I am on PC now so is easier to do.

We have had him since March of this year, even if you try and get him to drop it and offer him another stick he still will go back for it and not chase the other stick?!?! sometimes he will drop it but mostly he is quite possesive.
