They're nightmares. We had loads of those on a firethorn in our garden years ago. We thought they were caterpillars at first.

The birds would love these little blighters Steve, either to eat for themselves or feed their chicks.

Idea - pick them off and put them in a bowl in your garden (well away from the carrots!)

Two greens in one go - save your carrots and feed the birds Smile

Just a thought; you are obviously not growing these carrots to be fresh tender young roots on your plate - are you intending to enter them for the local longest carrot competition?
