new to the forum

Hi my name is Nicky and I'm the proud new owner of a six week old Standerd Bull Terrier puppy named Tip. She is my first Bull Terrier and eventhough I only had her since last fridfay I love her dearly. I'm married with two children and is a stay at home mom.

Someone told me I should not let Tip play bite, yet I know puppies explore their world by biting on thinhs so I'm a bit confused. I'm planning on taking her to puppy class as soon as she had her second shot.

Playbiting - it really depends on what you mean. A little mouthing from time to time i acceptable to a lot of people, but would be looked at differently if it were a child on the receiveing end! Full on nipping/biting during play/excitement can become a problem when the dog is older & has a harder bite!

6 weeks is very early for your pup to be taken away from its mum/sibblings,it would have learnt alot from them about biting/mouthing,alot of people will advise you to say ouch and then ignore
her for a few minutes,different things work for different people.they soon learn just make sure every one in the house is consistant with her
