Injured Looking after Bee

Post by Kathy Sun Jul 21 2013, 17:39

Yesterday afternoon my hubby noticed a huge bumble bee outside on our patio. The poor fella had a broken wing and seemed a bit weak. Hubby gave him/her some honey to revive it then gently placed it over the fence at the bottom of the garden, there is a large cherry tree there.

We had just got back from walking Rocky this afternoon and noticed that he /she was back on the patio in exactly the same spot hubby found it yesterday. Hubby gave it some honey again as he looked weak again but came round again as it had yesterday.

Bumble Bee is now in a safe place away from Rocky dog so he can heal, the wing is still damaged, not sure if it will heal or not. We were both amazed that bee made his way back to us, did he remember getting help from hubby ??

Aww well done hope it survives, we do need more bees. I put one out the other nite in a safe place as he was very dozy and sauntering up the curtain, then again could have been the fumes from my wine!

I suppose if it needs food it will go to where it thinks food will be, you fed it so I can only imagine it will keep coming back!
