Bottle nose?

Well this week i have had 2 different conversations with 2 people about Louby - one reckons she is a 'bottlenosed' staffy, while another reckons that she looks like 'staffys used to do before they were bred for showing etc'.

A load a twaddle i believe, but its amazing how different people think different things and actually believe what they say is right.

devil dog they couldn't be any less devil dogs although this is we're darcy gets DD from, from her early puppy days & only because she was being a normal puppy

There is some truth to it to be honest. Staffies had a longer muzzle and some people refer to them as old style staffies. They were also larger and leaner than todays. There are a few breeders who breed old style staffies exclusively.

Bottle nosed? I've heard it all now.

Definitely bottle-nosed. Obvious. Fine example of a dolphin!

 

Bottle nosed - that's a new one on me!  I've got this weird pic in my head of a stafford body with a beer bottle instead of a head!

Oh Mick and Jim and beauts! Ive never heard bottle nose though, but I see what you mean about the longer muzzle.

Yes Lou does have a long muzzle like the pooch in the 2nd pic.

Another one i get is, they think she is male cos she is muscley, they didnt think females could be so muscley?!?! Hermaphrodite? x

I have a staffy pig as Blue makes grunting noises and it's pretty obvious to us dog experts that Louby is the way she is as she's half cow....some stupid people out there

Well I always find this interesting to read, as Pixee is my first staffie, and I knew next to nothing about them, call my self an expert shall I  . However wow, Mick and Jim, handsome I have to say.

Like Eleanor when you said bottle nose I immediately thought Dolphin and then how these BYB's are getting more and more cunning , at least your stafford would be pretty much guaranteed to take to the water

is this going to be the next breeder buzword for a rare staffy??? i can imagine the sites now brindle staff £200 blue staff £600 and bottle nosed staff pup (very rare) £1200     of course there will be the fools that follow and parade there "bottle nosed" staffy down the street. watch it; his bottle nose gives him a better lock jaw when his head splits its 24 X that of a normal staff  no you muppet its a lab staff cross you just paid 12 hundred quid for....
