PLEASE HELP
Since my girl had her op a couple of months ago, she has turned into even more of a nightmare than normal
We can't leave the house and leave her here on her own, she tries to escape out the front door, goes absolutely nuts
She has started using our bed as her personal toilet (discusting) I just don't know what to do next !!!!!!

Re: PLEASE HELP
I daren't crate her as when we rescued her we were told all her teeth are broken because of her trying to escape out of cages.
She doesn't have one full tooth in her head, she's had a kong it didn't work

Re: PLEASE HELP
Chance chewed his crate and chipped his teeth, and he's a rescue but LOVES his crate now
Many dogs without teeth get on great with kongs, they use their tongue to empty them

Re: PLEASE HELP
Sounds like to me she was never proper desensitized to her crate, i'd go back to basics with it.
Or you could try putting baby gates up, so she is confined to certain parts of the house

Re: PLEASE HELP
It sounds as though she was possibly traumatised by the operation & is now suffering from separation anxiety.
Try going back to leaving her for a minute or two at a time and gradually increase it.

We have baby gates up, she attacks them, cuts her mouth to bits

Yea we have started doing that, she attacks the front door before we are out the gate, I'm sure she was traumatised too as she wasn't this bad before

Re: PLEASE HELP
Don't go as far as the gate yet. Confine her to one room & just stand outside the front door for seconds! Then come back in.
You could try an Adaptil plug in and/or spray.

Re: PLEASE HELP
We don't go through the gate, just make a noise with it. But yea we will leave it a few seconds rather than 30 seconds thanks

Re: PLEASE HELP
Do have a think about the Adaptil, though, they may help to calm her down a little.

Adaptil works wonders, I've got the plug in and used it when my son went back to work and Darcy would be left on her own for 2/3 hours 3 times a week

Re: PLEASE HELP
