Amazing, I was in Nicaragua last year and not only got to stand on the edge of the main crater of one active volcano but because it was too windy to skydive for most of the trip we flew the plane around a couple of the other active volcanoes

I've not done anything as dramatic as Jules, but not so long ago I walked up the sleeping volcano that lies in the middle of the caldera at Santorini. Seeing smoke and sulphur fumes seeping out of cracks and fissures was awe-inspiring, a primeval experience. We are all living on this thin crust of rock, not so very far from the boiling mass that lies beneath our feet.
